THANKFULNESS......

Ya know, Sunday night our pastor asked for folks to share something that they are thankful for.... What happened next has got me to thinking......
Some said thinks like, "well, I got up on this side of the grass this morning so I guess I'm thankful I'm still alive."; others said, "yep, I'm thankful for the air I breathe", and on it went.... Nothing deep or profound....
I had to ask myself and God "why"? "Why is it when we are asked how God has blessed us that we clam up and act as if we have no clue?"
Here is the answer that I believe is from God:
We, His children, don't take the time to recognize what He "really" does for us! Sure, He has given us a wonderful planet to live on, complete with air to breathe and water to drink.... He has given us a sun to warm our days and a moon to tuck us in at night with.... For the most part, we have good health, a home to live in and a job to provide for our families......

But there is more.....much, much more.

What about that intersection with the four car pile up? If I had left the house just a few moments earlier, it may have been me? I was so upset that I could not find my keys, but now? Praise God!
And what about the phone call from a friend, thanking me for praying for her son? What a blessing to know that God heard "my" prayer and I was a part of her son's well being?

Then there was the time the power went out (during my favorite show!) and because of that, I was able to spend more time with God! Indeed, THAT was a HUGE blessing.....

I have come to make it a practice, as I lie in bed at night, to think back on the day, and to ask the Holy Spirit to remind me of the blessings that God has placed in my path for that day...... Ya know what? He does and He has shown me that I am indeed a blessed woman....blessings upon blessings! That is HIS promise and He ALWAYS keeps His promises.....

So, the next time some one asks you how you have been blessed "today", tell them!!!! From your heart.....tell them...
